10 More Prompts to Improve Results, Productivity, and Land Unpaid Media
How AI Can Help You Write a Book Without Taking You Out of ItOtherwise, What's the Point? There are tons of books being “written” with AI right now. Just look at the slopfest going on over at Amazon. Unfortunately, most of them are half-hearted attempts, and you can smell the AI from a mile away. It’s not x; it’s y. It’s not this; it’s that. That’s not blah blah blah — it’s blah blah blah. The “AI tells” are obvious when everyone is churning out the same damn thoughtless copy without even attempting to interject a piece of themselves into it. Enter Sudowrite.Sudowrite is an AI tool designed to help you write fiction. Before you ask, no, I’m not an affiliate for it, nor will I be linking to it in any way. If you’re interested in how AI can help, you can look it up on your own. I’m just saying that it helps you get the ball rolling without removing what makes you unique from the equation. And this weekend, I used it to plan out most of an entire novel in 10% of the time it would have taken me to do it on my own. Here’s what I did. First, I Signed Up for It.Sudowrite offers free plans. Last I checked, it gives you around 5,000 credits per month. I’ve been a $29 a month paying user for a long time. So, the “sign up for it” step happened more than a year ago. Once you’ve done that, you can start a project. Doing so opens up Story Bible, which allows you to walk through each step of the novel creation process on your own, or let AI generate it from scratch. But why would you want to do that? If AI is writing out everything, then what’s the point of “writing” a novel in the first place? That’s the question I was asking myself this weekend. So, I decided to take it step by step and give Sudowrite every last detail I could muster about the novel I wanted to write.
