Cowork Turns Claude Into Your Digital Coworker

video preview

Cowork is a research preview inside Claude Desktop (macOS) that turns Claude into an “action mode” teammate: you give it access to a folder, describe the outcome you want, and it plans and executes multi-step work—creating, editing, and organizing files along the way.

It’s built for real knowledge-work deliverables (think formatted docs, spreadsheets, presentations) and includes guardrails like scoped folder permissions, visibility into what it’s doing, and checkpoints before major actions.

Right now, it’s aimed at Claude Max subscribers, and Anthropic frames it as an early-release feature they’ll iterate on quickly.

Let's begin! PromptCraft: 7 Prompts to Stop Overthinking, 7 for Digital Detoxing, and Going...

JANUARY 13, 2025 TODAY: Back to work, and it's not all good news. A recent finding from the BLS shows that, for the first time maybe in our country's history, we have more job seekers than available jobs. That's before the coming "AI Apocalypse" foreseen for 2026 by the so-called godfather of AI. In other news, 2 in 3 physicians are now using AI in their practice, which is up 78% from just two years ago. That's to be expected, considering ChatGPT didn't become a household word until then....
