TODAY: Prompts for Governance, Risk, and Compliance; Human AI Portraits; and Tuning Project Instructions for Academic Work

  • Unified GRC access map prompt chain: Multi-step prompt defines variables for HR, IAM, and Finance exports, standardizes user IDs, builds a cross-system access table, then runs toxic-combination checks and remediation suggestions, ending with an executive summary for stakeholders. (Reddit)
  • Prompt tweaks for more human AI portraits: Author shows how adding details like lighting, expression, and depth-of-field dramatically changes professional portrait realism across different generators, and asks for go-to phrasing other prompt engineers use to improve posture, tone, and believability. (Reddit)
  • One word change tanked AI sales conversions: Swapping “explain” to “describe” in a system prompt made an AI sales agent sound formal and less conversational, dropping conversions from 18% to 11%. Thread stresses prompt version control, A/B testing, and catching regressions before production. (Reddit)
  • Tuning project instructions for academic work: A student uses project folders plus an uploaded rubric to get grading-style feedback on reports, but struggles with hallucinations and verbosity, asking for better instruction templates to enforce brevity and citation discipline. (Reddit)
  • Meta-prompt to force AI to think first: Instead of requesting outputs directly, this prompt makes the model list its assumptions, information gaps, and common mistakes, then ask two clarifying questions before answering—great for marketing, pricing, and strategy tasks. (Reddit)

Nano Banana 2 Releases

Nano Banana 2 is Google’s latest image generation and editing model, built to deliver “Pro-level” quality and stronger visual reasoning while staying fast enough for everyday creative work. You can generate new images from a prompt, then edit them conversationally.

Swap backgrounds, change lighting or camera angle, apply the style of a reference photo, resize for different formats, and even place clean, readable text into designs like posters, invites, and logos.

It’s a great fit for marketers, designers, and content teams who need production-ready visuals quickly, and for builders who want to ship image features via Google’s Gemini API.

On a personal note, I've always dreamed of doing my own Tales from the Crypt-style comic book. I used Edgar Allan Poe's short story "Berenice" as the inspiration for this horror host opening, and feel it turned out pretty solid.

Incidentally, look for Bump in the Night #1 from Yours Truly later this year ;).
