USING CHATGPT TO BUILD A DATA PIPELINE Instead of a prompt roundup, I just wanted to share with you all the design that I plan to launch next week, along with some details on how I used ChatGPT to create it. First, here's what we're going to, starting on Monday: I think it's a better-looking format, and I got there with no programming skills whatsoever, although I have managed to pick up a few along the way. In the end, this is what it's capable of:
Here's how I made it happen:
2. I followed its direction on tools to use, packages to install, scripts to run, etc. 3. I leveled with it when something wasn't working, or I was confused, and it helped me troubleshoot. 4. When the conversation got too long, I Ctrl+A'd that bad boy and pasted it into a Notepad file, which was then uploaded to my mAIn Street News Project as a Source. 5. I started a new chat, asking it to pick up where my Source file left off. 6. I had it build an HTML wrapper with my color scheme so that there was HTML language I could paste into Kit once I was finished with a day's run of news. 7. I relentlessly tested before deciding to make it public. A few eggs may break along the way as this rolls out live next week, but the important thing to remember is that I went from non-techie novice to data pipeline builder in one week. That was as an English major with no programming skills whatsoever. Choose something you find difficult. Start by asking ChatGPT to walk you through it one step at a time. When the task becomes big enough (i.e., the chat session starts forgetting things or acting odd), consider starting a Project and uploading your conversations as a Source. Then, keep talking and doing. Eventually, you'll get where you want to go, and you'll learn a whole lot along the way. With ChatGPT, you can do hard things :) HIGHLIGHTS: Anthropic gives Claude shared context across Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, enabling reusable workflows in multiple applications; Meta unveils plans for batch of in-house AI chips; Perplexity launches Mac-based AI agent; Americans' Views on AI
