Newsletter drafting, 'Deep Work,' and Job Description Prompts
Why AI Literacy Is No Longer EnoughAnd What It Means for the Next Two YearsToday, I spent a lot of time spinning my wheels. It's always like this on four-day weeks that start on a Tuesday. You can never, ever escape Monday. It will just make its presence known on other days, no matter what. Anyhow, the main question bothering me now is how deep an impact AI will have on jobs, and how best to prepare for that locally. I suspect job displacement will become a serious issue in the next two years, and if all you're doing is using AI to help you word things, you're gonna be in a world of hurt. My goal is to educate, to get others comfortable with using AI to enhance themselves, and to make a reasonable living doing it. This last part had me thinking extra hard today, particularly about nonprofit-versus-for-profit, and which one of those pathways might be right for me. I love the idea of training as many people as possible through a nonprofit. But you’ve also got to pay the bills, ya know? These are the types of questions worth wrestling with because they confront the inevitable changes coming and help us position ourselves for the world beyond work as we know it.
