Be careful what you wish for, \"they\" say. Boy, should I have listened to that!
\nNot one to be left out by hot AI trends, I decided to play the \"Roast Me\" game but use it as an opportunity to learn something about different models in the process.
\nI chose ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Meta's Llama, and X's Grok. I'll let you decide who the winner is before sharing my pick.
\nSpoiler alert: this hurts.
\nWelp, there goes my self-esteem.
\nWith a roast, you really want it to smart a bit.
\nAs that goes, ChatGPT 4o and Grok 3 were the frontrunners for me. Gemini landed a pretty good one with that \"forgot to shave last week\" line, though.
\n(These things are perceptive.)
\nAnyhow, who won? You decide!
\nScammers are increasingly using artificial intelligence to create fake identities and land remote jobs, posing a growing threat to companies worldwide, new research shows. With AI-generated resumes, headshots, LinkedIn profiles, and even real-time video filters, fraudsters are fabricating convincing personas to infiltrate businesses—only to steal sensitive data or install malware once hired.
\nCybersecurity firm Vidoc Security recently exposed one such case in a viral LinkedIn post. During a remote interview, co-founder Dawid Moczadlo became suspicious and asked the candidate to place a hand in front of their face—revealing what appeared to be a deepfake. This was Vidoc’s second run-in with an AI-generated applicant, prompting them to overhaul their hiring process and require all candidates to attend in-person interviews.
\nThe trend is accelerating. Gartner estimates that by 2028, one in four job applicants could be fake. The U.S. Department of Justice has already uncovered networks of North Korean operatives using AI to secure remote IT jobs in the U.S., funneling hundreds of millions of dollars to the country's defense programs.
\nVidoc is now developing a guide for HR professionals to detect fraudulent candidates. Best practices include inspecting LinkedIn profiles for recent creation dates, asking culturally specific questions, and prioritizing in-person meetings—still the most reliable method of identity verification in the age of AI.
\nI've been raving about Google's Gemini for a while now, but the recent onslaught of upgrades have me now ready to go public with the crush I've developed on it.
\nCurrently, I'm enjoying the full suite of tools through the $19.99 Gemini Advanced plan. I get it for 30 days free, so I haven't actually paid for it yet. But that's about to change on May 22 because I'm keeping this baby.
\nHere's a quick rundown of all the new bells and whistles. Follow the links to learn more about each feature.

\nHow it works:
\nWhy it matters: Ideal for people who learn by listening, for executives who want a drive-time briefing, or for students reviewing lengthy research packets.
\nWhat it is: A blank, collaborative canvas inside the Gemini app where you can draft prose, create marketing copy, or write/preview code snippets with live Gemini feedback. Think of it as a lightweight combination of Google Docs + Replit + ChatGPT Code Interpreter. Google Workspace Google Workspace Updates
\nWorkflow:
\nUpshot: Teams can brainstorm copy or iterate on code in one place without shuffling between chat threads and separate editors.
\nWhat it is: Gemini now scans inbound emails for dates, times, and venues. When it spots a potential meeting, a blue Add to Calendar chip appears above the subject line; clicking it pre-fills a Google Calendar event in a side panel. Google Workspace Updates 9to5Google
\nBehind the scenes:
\nBenefit. Reduces “forgotten invite” friction and removes dependence on third-party plug-ins like Boomerang.
\nSince late 2024, the floating Gemini panel that began in Docs has expanded to Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, and Drive. You can:
\nDo I need a special license? Yes. Features live in Gemini for Google Workspace (Business/Enterprise tiers) or Google One AI Premium for personal accounts.
\nAre Audio Overviews multilingual? Launch phase is English-only; other languages are “coming soon.”
\nIs Canvas code execution sandboxed? Yes—runs in a temporary container. No production data is touched unless you explicitly link Repositories or Cloud projects.
\nCan Admins audit Audio Overview content? The generated MP3 and the underlying script are stored in Drive and are discoverable via Vault.
\nGoogle’s rapid Gemini roll-out mirrors Microsoft’s Copilot push: AI is no longer a separate app but woven into the tools workers already open 100 times a day. Expect:
\nFor organizations evaluating AI assistants, these Workspace updates illustrate a clear trend: the winning tools are those that quietly eliminate mundane clicks rather than demand entirely new workflows.

Yesterday afternoon, I had the honor of addressing the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) faculty in Fort Smith. What Kyle Parker and his team have built over there in just a short amount of time has been nothing short of amazing. As usual, when presenting about AI, I learn a lot from the attendees. Going as granular as you can with use-cases and prompting techniques is probably the best way to accelerate your education and ensure you're ready for the world that's coming. The professors and instructors there seem ready for the challenge, and I'm glad we have them in my backyard. APRIL 24, 2025
